Rebecca Jane Pieplow, 62, of Athens died Monday at Huntsville Hospital. Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Lindsay Lane Baptist Church with Dusty McLemore officiating. Visitation is from noon until service time at the church. Spry Funeral Home will be directing the services.
Mrs. Pieplow was born Oct. 3, 1953 in Port Clinton, Ohio. She was a member of The Rock Family Worship Center, a graduate of Bowling Green State University, a preschool teacher at First Baptist Church, Athens and currently employed at Pimento’s in Athens.
Survivors include her husband, Tom Pieplow; daughters, Sarah Pieplow Sharman (Matthew), Auburn and Jessica Pieplow Delaplane (Matt), Harvest; grandchildren, Ella Peyton Sharman and Mallory Sharman; sister, Susie Mayhew Dick, Denton, Texas; brothers, Brad Mayhew, Pembroke Pines, Florida and Wyn Mayhew, Port Clinton, Ohio; seven nieces.
Preceded in death by her parents, Lyle and Mildred Mayhew. Honorary pallbearers will be John Romine, Matthew Sharman, Matt Delaplane, Jerry Batts, Ronnie Chronister, Tom Talley and Dan Parker. Memorials may be made to Becky Pieplow Scholarship Fund at Athens State University, 300 North Beaty Street, Athens, AL 35611.
