Leon Sockwell, age 73, of Leighton, Alabama, passed away Saturday, Feb. 6, 2016. Funeral service will be Monday, Feb. 8, 2016, at 10 a.m. at Cox Boulevard Church of Christ. Burial will follow in Glendale Cemetery. Brother Glenn Redmond and Brother Larry Kilpatrick will be officiating. Colbert Memorial Chapel is assisting the family.
Mr. Sockwell was preceded in death by his parents, Roy H. Sockwell and Etoile “Campbell” Sockwell.
Survivors are his wife, Maxine R. Sockwell; sons, Tommy Sockwell, Tuscumbia, Alabama, Roy David Sockwell, Sandy Springs, Georgia, (Jolynn); sister, Doris Crosswhite (Frank); grandchildren, Drew, Caroline and Finley and Theora Sockwell.
Pallbearers are Bobby Fisher, Frank Crosswhite, Ron Stowe, Charles Lowery, Kenneth Copeland and Drew Sockwell.
He was a member of Cox Boulevard Church of Christ.
