Bill Matthews and Dave Anderson at the Muscle Shoals Music historical statue
MUSCLE SHOALS – The City put the finishing touches on its Singing River music tribute statue this past Thursday. Several interpretive plaques were installed at the foot of the statue, a depiction of Swamper David Hood who is one of the legendary bass guitar players of FAME Studios and is a founder of the epic Muscle Shoals Sound Studio.
Dave Anderson and Bill Matthews, the keystone individuals who made the statue possible, were on hand as City workers fastened the plaques to the exhibit. They were obviously pleased with the final result. Most of the text on the plaques was composed by Terry Pace, the Shoals’ famed music historian.
