Funeral service for Dewey Thomas Rice, 94, will be Friday, February 5, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Fairview “The Grace Place” Church with Dr. Gene Rice, Dr. Milan Dekich and Rev. Roger Daniel officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Falkville City Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, February 4, 2016 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
Mr. Rice died on Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at Summerford Nursing Home. He was born August 12, 1921, in Morgan County to George L Rice and Lillie Elizabeth Meeks Rice. He was a member of the Oak Park Church of God for 66 years. Mr. Rice was a machinist, working for Wolverine Tube for 37 years, prior to his retirement and also served his country and is a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was preceded in death by his wife: Willodean Holmes Rice, a son: Thomas Wayne Rice, four brothers: Roy, Willie, Ted and Deward Rice, two sisters: Ruby Rice Smith and Eleanor Mae Rice Sanders and his parents.
