Three Arrested Charged With Attempted Kidnapping Of A Public Official

TUPELO-Wednesday, February 3 the Lee County Sheriff’s Office arrested three men who have been accused of conspiring to kidnap a public official.

Thomas Waddell, 27, Mathew Fowler, 24 and William Randolph 22 have been arrested on charges of Conspiracy to Commit Burglary, Robbery and Kidnapping.  The trio was arrested after a concerned citizen overheard a conversation plotting the kidnapping according to investigators.

The investigation uncovered evidence that the three men conspired to kidnap and rob Circuit Court Judge Paul Funderburk. The authorities have a surveillance video of the three men discussing the plot.

All three men are being held in the Lee County Jail on bond of $150,000 each.
