Emogene Thompson Tate, 90 of Arab died Friday – January 29, 2016 in Altoona Health and Rehab – Altoona, Alabama.
Mrs. Tate was born on October 31, 1925 in Lee County Alabama to, Benjamin Franklin Thompson and Bobbie Love Wallace Thompson. She and her husband lived in Arab since 1952. Mrs. Tate taught for many years in the public schools and later was a homemaker.
Mrs. Tate was a member of the Arab First United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her Son: John F. Tate (Barbara); Daughter: Ellen “EL” McClendon (Jim McClendon); Preceded in death by her Husband: John M. Tate – May 27, 2013; Brothers: Buddy Thompson and Ben Thompson; Sister: Ruth Prather.

Graveside service will be 11:00 a.m. Sunday- January 31, 2016 at Arab Memorial Cemetery with Rev. Roy Bryant, officiating. Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel, directing.
