Christene Elizabeth Green, age 94, of Tuscumbia, died Wednesday, January 27, 2016. Her family will receive friends Sunday, 12-2 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. The funeral service will follow in the funeral home chapel with Chad Holder officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Sheffield.
Christene was a native of Tishomingo, MS and a member of First Baptist Church, Sheffield.
She was a co-owner of Green’s Shoe Shop in Sheffield. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Green, her daughter, Judy Blankenship, grand-daughter, Zanny Ledbetter, and her parents, John and Emma Weaver, brothers, J. R. Weaver, Starkey Weaver and sisters, Julia Mills and Faye Miles.
She is survived by her grandchildren; Christe Killough, Roy Blankenship and Melissa Jones, special great grandchildren; Spencer and Kenny Killough, sister; Jane Cox, great-grandchildren; Tabitha Ferguson, Steven Ferguson, Linkon Jones, Felonie Jones, Stonie Jones, and Emma Blankenship.
Pallbearers are Tyler Williams, Andrew Campbell, Channing Marmonn, Clent McLeary, MacKenzie Moore, Xavier Trotter, Monquavius Ricks.
The family expresses special thanks to the nursing and staff of Helen Keller 4th floor and Ann Massey and her caregivers; Elizabeth, Lisa, JoAnne and Jill.
