“Exchange Parking”

TUPELO-The Lee County Sheriff’s Department released a statement announcing a safe way to exchange money and goods while using internet sites to buy and sell:

In response to a growing e-commerce marketplace and the increasing number of scams and victimization of buyers and sellers nationally, the Lee County Sheriff’sDepartment has implemented a safer way for citizens to exchange money and goods when using Craigslist, eBay, Facebook groups and other websites. The Lee County Department will have available “Exchange Parking.”

This new initiative, Lee County Sheriff’s Department “Exchange Parking,” is two parking spaces that have been identified and reserved at The Lee Co. Sheriff’s Department, 510 N. Commerce Street, Tupelo, for online buyers and sellers who can feel more secure in their face-to-face transactions. The two identified parking spaces are lighted, as well as, video monitored 24-7.

The Lee County Sheriff’s Department is also a designated location that provides a mutual place for civil exchanges, such as child custody visitation, to lessen the potential for problems between the parties.

We want to do all we can to ensure we do our part in making our county a safe place.
