myrnaMyrna Lee Barber grew up in Illinois where she excelled in school, enjoyed ice skating and going to the movies with her big brother Junior. Myrna worked at the Army Signal Depot in Decatur Illinois where she met the love of her life, Wayne. They moved to Huntsville Alabama in 1960. Myrna was a loving mother with a great sense of humor. She made many life-long friendships and enjoyed participating in the Girl Scouts, crafting, bowling and traveling. She worked at Dot’s Shoe Tree and later opened her own clothing store following after her passion for fashion. Myrna and Wayne went on many cruises with their family and enjoyed working on home improvement projects. Myrna loved flowers and filled her home and gardens with them. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Wayne Barber; parents, Henry Alvin and Mamie Hatton; brothers, Bobby Hatton, Henry Alvin (Junior) Hatton; sisters, Mary Elizabeth Hatton, Myra Veraldi. She is survived by her son Steve Barber (Michi); daughters Elizabeth Rich and Peggy Meagher; grandchildren, Caleb Barber, Natalie Meadows, TJ Barber, Rachel Barber, and Hayley Meagher; eleven great-grandchildren; brother, Jerry (Judy) Hatton; sister, Donna Dickson. Visitation will be Saturday, January 30 from 12:00pm-2:00pm at Berryhill Funeral Home with a Celebration of Life service at 2:00pm. Berryhill Funeral Home is assisting the family.
