Funeral service for Mr. Ralph E. Parkes, age 95, of Fayetteville, will be conducted Saturday, January 16, 2016 at 1 p.m. at Higgins Funeral Home with Bro. Tom Ralston officiating. Burial will follow in Gatlin Cemetery. Mr. Parkes passed away Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at Donalson Care Center.
Mr. Parkes was a native of Missouri, the son of the late Donald and Annie Shafter Parkes. He worked for AT&T, was a WWII Navy veteran and a member of the Washington Street Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife Van Parkes of Fayetteville, daughter Carol (Tom) Ralston of Covington, TN, granddaughters Gail Perry, Beth Ralston, sister Sarah Parkes of Missouri, 6 step-children and numerous step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren. Along with his parents, Mr. Parkes was preceded in death by his daughter Ruth Parkes, brother John Parkes and sister Edith Parkes Becker.
Visitation with the family will be Saturday, January 16, 2016 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Higgins Funeral Home.
