Funeral services for Rev. Lyndon T. Montgomery will be Sunday, January 10, 2016 at Peck Funeral Home Chapel at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Michael Wakefield, Rev. Eddie Card and Dr. Joe Hernandez officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Hartselle Memory Gardens. Visitation will be Sunday, January 10, 2016 from 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Rev. Montgomery died on Friday, January 8, 2016 at Summerford Nursing Home, Falkville. He was born June 23, 1923 in Lawrence County, Alabama to John Dewitt Montgomery and Della Ann Key Montgomery.
Since 1948, Rev. Montgomery pastored numerous churches in the Morgan and Muscle Shoals Baptist Associations. The first church he pastored was Valley Grove Baptist Church, Speake, where he met the love of his life, Margaret Stephenson. They were married for 63 years when Margaret passed away in October, 2015. At the time of his death, he was a member of Valley Grove Baptist. Other churches he served include Enon, Providence, Blue Springs, Hopewell, Macedonia, Friendship, Ryan, Old Town Creek, Pines, Oak Ridge, Flower Hill, and Eastside.
Known as “The Man with the Red Tie,” he retired after 25 years of service with Rhodes Furniture, where he was a national award-winning sales consultant.
Rev. Montgomery was a faithful student of Scripture, a loving and generous father, grandfather, and friend to many. He was passionate about preaching the gospel and sharing his faith in Christ.

Two Great Grandchildren:
Stephen McKenzie and
Madi Beth McKenzie
