Funeral services for Mr. Fleetwood “Woody” Stanfill, age 81, are scheduled for 11 AM, Saturday, January 9, 2016 at First Baptist Church in Lexington with Dr. Hoyt Wilson officiating with Masonic Rites to follow. Interment will follow in Lexington Cemetery. Mr. Stanfill passed away Wednesday in Jackson. He was born March 21, 1934 in Henderson County to the late Hicks Rady Stanfill and Drexel Blankenship Stanfill. Mr. Stanfill owned Piggly Wiggly in Lexington from 1978 – 2002 and managed Camps Supermarket for over 20 years. He joined First Baptist Church in Lexington in 1956, where he was a charter member of the Jack Hay Sunday School Class. He had been a Mason for over 50 years belonging to the Constantine Lodge # 64 and was a Shriner. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed gardening. Mr. Stanfill is survived by his high school sweetheart, to whom he has been married for 63 years, Mrs. Bobbie Reeves Stanfill; his two daughters, Beverly Lawson (Max) and Gina Myracle (Dudley); two brothers, Bennie Stanfill and Frank Stanfill; one sister, Wilma Moffitt; five grandchildren, Jeremy Lawson (Beverly), Russ Lawson, Katie Story (Chris); Molly Britt (Jason), and Allison Cummins (Tyler); and three great grandchildren, Noah and Norah Beth Britt and Jonah Lawson. His grandchildren were his pride and joy! He was preceded in death by one brother, Bill Stanfill. The family requests memorials be sent to First Baptist Church of Lexington.
