DECATUR-The Decatur Police Department made an arrest in the robbery of two women at gunpoint who were robbed a residence on Tuesday, January 5.

Here is a statement issued by the Decatur Police:

“SYNOPSIS OF OFFENSE & ARREST:
On 1/5/16 at about 6:56pm, Decatur Police responded to a robbery that occurred at 520 11th Ave NW.
Upon arrival, Officers were able to determine that two women who were in the residence had been robbed at gunpoint by a black male. The male forced his way into the residence brandishing the gun, pointing it at the women and taking an undetermined amount of money and personal property from them. The male then fled in a vehicle.
Using information from the victims, DPD Officers of the Anti-Crime Unit located the vehicle used in the robbery at a residence on Hillwood Dr.
A black male trying to hide at that address was apprehended. He was in possession of a small amount of Marijuana. He also lied about his identity and attempted to run away from the officers.
The male was Joshua Garner-Banks. He was initially charged with Possession of Marijuana 2nd, Resisting Arrest and Giving a False Name to Law Enforcement Officer.
On 1/6/15, Joshua Garner-Banks was charged with (2) counts of Robbery in the First Degree. He was transferred to the Morgan County Jail. His bond has not yet been set.
There were no injuries to either victim.”
