George O. Aston, age 76, died Friday, Dec. 18, 2015, at ECM Hospital.
A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with Father Roy Runkle officiating. Interment will be in Greenview Memorial Cemetery.
Mr. Aston was born Dec. 24, 1938, in Guntersville, Alabama, to James and Rosemary Aston. After retiring from the Air Force, he continued working for the U.S. Army BAMC in San Antonio, Texas, in a civilian position.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Wanda Humphries Aston; sons, Kevin (Deana), of Greenhill, and Christopher, of Chattanooga, Tennessee; grandsons, Kyle, of Florence, Craig (Tiffany), of Lakenheath AFB, England, and Kurtis, of Florence; sisters, Joan Clarkson and Dorothy Willingham, both of Tupelo, Mississippi; brothers, James (Joanie), of Las Vegas, Nevada, William “Bill” (Joyce), of Muscle Shoals, and David (Susan), of Saltillo, Mississippi; and a host of nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests making donations to George’s two favorite charities, Wounded Warrior Project or St. Jude. Compassionate and Proficient Preparation Presented by: Trinity Memorial Funeral Home, Muscle Shoals.
