Essie G. Curtis, 99, died Friday, December 11, 2015, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Booneville. She was born June 5, 1916, to Tom and Berthie Warren Gist. She was formerly in the banking business. She was a member of Friendship Methodist Church in Peppertown. She enjoyed crocheting.
Graveside services will be at 3:00 p. m. Monday, December 14, at the Union Grove Cemetery with Bro. Darrell Sanderson officiating. McNeece-Morris Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include one nephew, Tommy Gist; two nieces, Judy Riley and Barbara Knight; and cousin, Sue Trimble.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce Curtis, who died in 1990; one son, Jimmy Curtis; five brothers, Quinnon, Ray, Grady, Howard, and Billy Gist; and her parents.
Visitation will be from 1:30 until 2:30 p.m. Monday at McNeece-Morris Funeral Home in Fulton.
