John Walton “Andy” Anderson, 69, of Elkmont, passed away Sunday, Dec. 13, 2015. Mr. Anderson was born Feb. 11, 1946 in Morgan County to Robert Walton Anderson and Elizabeth Townsend Anderson. Visitation will be Wednesday, Dec. 16, 2015 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home. Graveside services will be Wednesday, 1:30 p.m. at Roselawn Cemetery, Athens, with Pastor Mike Green officiating. Mr. Anderson was a member of First United Methodist Church of Decatur. He was a longtime board member of Alabama Farm Credit, and a lifelong Limestone County farmer.
He is survived by his wife, Jan Anderson; three sons, Gregory Len Anderson and wife, Cece, John Walton Anderson, Jr., and Robert Owen Anderson, all of Athens; three grandchildren, Mary Gregory Anderson, William Campbell Anderson and John McPhail Anderson; grandmother, Hazel McCaghren Anderson of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; one brother, Jack Talbot Anderson and wife, Shara, of Decatur; and three nephews.
Pallbearers will be Gregory Len Anderson, John Walton Anderson, Jr., Robert Owen Anderson, Burt Talbot Anderson, Jack Talbot Anderson, Jr. and Ben Walton Anderson. Honorary pallbearers will be William Campbell Anderson and John McPhail Anderson.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Hospital, The American Cancer Society or First United Methodist Church of Athens.
