Henry Earl Spicer, 66, passed away peacefully Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2015 at Huntsville Hospital. Mr. Spicer, who was born Jan. 2, 1949, was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Velma Jerkins Spicer. Left to cherish his precious memory is his loving wife of 45 years, Juanita Spicer; his daughter, Dawn Spicer of Los Angeles, California; his son, Markus Spicer and wife Tristan of Albertville; sister, Gerri Bains of Huntsville; two granddaughters, Gracyn and Molly Kate Spicer; a host of nieces and nephews; and several other relatives and friends.
“Hank” as most people knew him, was a real family man and loved all people. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren and loved traveling, especially to Gatlinburg, Tennessee. He loved the Lord and was a faithful member at Parkview Baptist Church in Decatur. He loved singing in the choir as well as socializing with his Church family. Henry Spicer was dearly loved and will be greatly missed!
You may visit with the family today from 1 until 3 p.m. prior to the service at Valhalla Funeral Home. There will be a funeral service conducted by Dr. Todd Evans in Valhalla’s Chapel commencing at 3 p.m. The entombment will immediately follow with military honors in Valhalla Memory Gardens Chapel of Peace Mausoleum.
The Spicer family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks to the Doctors, nurses and staff of Huntsville Hospital for their gracious care given to Mr. Spicer. In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations be made to Parkview Baptist Church building fund in Decatur.
