Jerry Dean Henley, 69, died Friday, December 11, 2015, in Houston, Mississippi. He was born March 23, 1946, in Belmont, Mississippi, and was employed with Baldwyn Grain Trucking. He was a truck driver since the age of 18 and thoroughly enjoyed it. He also spent many years as a professional car dealer. He was a member of New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, Belmont, Mississippi.
Services will be Sunday, December 13, at 1 p.m. at New Bethel Baptist Church, Belmont, Mississippi, with Haskell Sparks officiating. Burial will be in New Bethel Cemetery. Deaton Funeral Home, Belmont, Mississippi, will be in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include his four children: Keith Henley of Tupelo, Mississippi; Jeff Henley (Jennifer) Belmont, Mississippi, Crystal McCelland (Derrick) Phil Campbell, Alabama, and Ashley Simmons (Nathan) Starkville, Mississippi; five grandchildren: Landen and Payten McClelland, Marieshah and Alex Henley and Parker Simmons; his brother-in-law and best friend, Harold G. Sparks of Muscle Shoals, Alabama; three great-nieces: Elizabeth, Emily and Sarah Steles, of Muscle Shoals, Alabama, and a whole host of Sparks cousins.
He was preceded in his death by his parents, Tulon and Reba Sparks Henley; one sister, Nell Henley Sparks; one niece, Vicki Sparks Steles, and one nephew, Doug Sparks.
Pallbearers will be David Henley, Gerald Henley, David Wood, Mark Horn, Allen Holcomb and Jerry Warren.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Gann, Harold G. Sparks, Steve Henley, Billy Ray Henley and Tim Henley.
Visitation will be Saturday, December 12, 6-9 p.m. and Sunday, December 13, 12-1 p.m. at New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, Belmont, Mississippi.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to New Bethel Cemetery Fund.
