Jerry Lee Cooley, age 73, passed away Friday, December 11, 2015. The family will receive friends for visitation on Monday, December 14, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. The funeral service will follow at noon, in the funeral home chapel.
Mr. Cooley was born in Guntersville, but lived most of his life in the Shoals area. He was a graduate of Central High School, class of 1960. He was retired from Reynolds Metal Company.
Mr. Cooley enjoyed hunting, fishing, and all sports (particularly Atlanta Braves baseball and Alabama football).
Preceding Mr. Cooley in death is his special grandfather, Charles Harbin, father, Johnny Bill Cooley, mother, Dorothy Lola Harbin Peters, and grandson, Michael Holland Jr.
Survivors include his beloved wife, Else Cooley; son, Mike Holland (Renae); daughter, Lisa Burton (James); brother, Royce Cooley (Ingrid); sisters, Debra Marks (Tommy) and Janice Retherford (Butch); grandchildren, Matthew Ray Holland, Michelle Nicole Yerbey (Nick), Elke Isabella Burton, Maria Holland, Victoria Holland, Miles Holland, Marshall Holland, Mitchell Holland, Mason Holland, Marty Holland, Lydia Holland, Madeline Holland, Miranda Holland, Melissa Holland, Makenna Holland, Makayla Holland, Morgan Holland, Mya Holland, MacArthur Holland, and Marlan Holland; and great grandchildren, Kenzie Leigh Yerbey, Levi Holland, Brooklyn Holland, Tennison Willis, and Gemma Claire Twitty.
