Larry Mizel Gray – Obituary

Larry Mizel Gray, 64, passed away in his home, Thursday, Dec. 3rd. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mizel Gray and Nellie Irene Gray. Larry was born in Greenhill but moved at an early age to Muscle Shoals, where he attended Muscle Shoals High School.
Mr. Gray was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a member of the American Legion, Teamsters L.U. 402 for 45 years and retired from TVA Colbert Fossil Plant.
He learned to play guitar at an early age and enjoyed playing country music. He also enjoyed motorcycles, cooking, gardening, and Alabama football.
He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Jeanne Riddle Gray; sons, Michael Shane Gray (Rachel), Cherokee, and Shawn Christopher Gray, Muscle Shoals; sister, Wilma Jean Crowder (Dr. James), Florence; and grandchildren, Lily Paige and Nathan Mizel Gray, Sharon Faith, McKenzie Hope, and Caleb Austin Jeffries.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Darin Bowling, Hospice of the Shoals, and Vanderbilt Cancer Center for their care of Larry.
A private memorial honoring his life will take place at a later date.
