Florene L. Carroll, 93, of Addison passed on Nov. 26, 2015, at her home in Addison. She was born on Aug. 22, 1922, in Lawrence County. Mrs. Carroll was a longtime member of Friendship Baptist Church in Upshaw and especially enjoyed spending time with her family.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, Nov. 29, 2015, from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at Friendship Baptist Church with a Celebration of Life service to follow at 2:30 p.m. Brother Donnie Carroll and Brother Randy Sellers will officiate. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery.
She is survived by her son, James O. Carroll, Jr. and his wife, Emlie; sisters, Evalene Legg Price and Jewell Legg Hampton; she was “Mumaw” to two grandchildren, James Matthew Carroll and Brooke Carroll Brown; three great- grandchildren, Ford Stephen Brown, Brady James Brown and Walker Elihu Brown; and special friends/caregivers, Shelby Vernon, Rebekah Wood and Diane Wilkins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James O Carroll, Sr.; parents, Clarence Legg and Elizabeth “Nancy” Smith Legg; and brothers, Howard Legg, Holland Legg and Chester Legg.
