Funeral for Mattie Lee Morris, 92, of Trinity, will be Saturday, Nov. 21, 2015, at 2 p.m. at Corinth Baptist with Rev. Edward LouAllen and Rev. Chris Kitchens officiating and Parkway Funeral Home directing. The body will be at the church one hour before the service. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.
Mrs. Morris, who died Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2015 at her residence, was born Aug. 29, 1923, to Emmitt and Ethel Jones. She was a member of Corinth Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John Marvin Morris; daughter, Yolanda Hagood; sister, Para Lee Richardson; and four brothers, Melvin Jones, Robert Jones, Kermit Jones and Clinton Jones.
Survivors include one son, Danny (Carolyn) Morris; daughter, Betty McGregor; brothers, Roger (Cecilia) Jones, Sonny (Myra) Jones and Joel (Jennie) Jones; sister, Bobbie (Gwyn) Glover; grandchildren, Lou Ann (Steve) Mitchell, Kristi (James) Davis, Patty Morris, John McGregor, Johnny Ray (Nikki) Morris and Terry (Laurel) Morris and 12 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be John McGregor, Johnny Ray Morris, Terry Morris, Brandon Hatfield, Justin Morris and Mac Mitchell.
Honorary pallbearers will be great-grandchildren.
