Graveside services for Gerald Randy Fossett will be Monday, Nov. 16, 2015, at noon at Roselawn Cemetery in Athens with Neal Flum officiating. Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. at McConnell Funeral Home.
Mr. Fossett, who passed away Nov. 13, 2015, at Athens Limestone Hospital, was born on August 20, 1938 to Virgil and Ovelle Fossett, of Albertville. He received a basketball scholarship to Athens College where he met his wife Beth. Mr. Fossett owned Fossett Auto Glass in Athens, Decatur, and Albertville for years before retiring. He loved his family, his dog, Dusty, and Alabama football. He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Dorothy Fossett NeSmith, of Albertville.
He is survived by his wife, Beth Bailey Fossett, of 54 years. Randy and Beth were married on August 13, 1961. Survived also by daughters, Melanie Fossett Varnell and husband, Tom, of The Woodlands, Texas and Mary Beth Fossett, of Athens; and grandsons, Paul Varnell and Will Varnell of The Woodlands, Texas; and three nephews and one niece.
Pallbearers are Paul Watson Varnell, William Thomas Varnell, Neal Howard Flum, William Ray “Trey” Bailey III, Daniel Wright, and Clay Rocker.
Honorary pallbearers are Edward NeSmith Steven NeSmith, Kerry NeSmith, and Eddie NeSmith.
