Funeral for Mossie Faye Bishop, 75, of Decatur will be Monday, Nov. 9, 2015, at 2 p.m. at Shelton Funeral Home Chapel with Mike Rhodes officiating. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until service time. Burial will be in Burningtree Cemetery.
Mrs. Bishop, who died Friday, Nov. 6, 2015 at her residence, was born April 14, 1940 in Town Creek to Johnny and Massie Carpenter.
She was a cosmetologist and owner of House of Wigs for 42 years. She was compassionate in helping cancer patients with wigs and prosthesis for breast cancer. She collected antiques for years. Mrs. Bishop was a member of Shoal Creek Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Johnny and Massie Carpenter; sister, Kathy Tune; brother, Clifton Carpenter; and grandson, Chris Steele.
Survivors include her daughters, Debbie (Jimmy) Springer of Priceville and Connie Steele (Gerry) Alexander of Trinity; sisters, Ina Tapley of Priceville, Fern Grandchamp of Hartselle and Helen (Dan) Nicolson of Priceville; grandchildren, Robin Brown, Patrick Springer, Shannon Alexander; and four great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be friends and family.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Valley.
