unnamedFLORENCE-The Northwest Alabama Resource Conservation and Development (RC&D) Council is hosting their second annual Tailgating with Local Food event on November 14, 2015 outside of Braly Stadium in Florence, Alabama. Last year, the Council set up on Spirit Quad before the game on November 8, 2014 and served approximately 350 people delicious food prepared by Local Chef Kevin Kilburn with ingredients from local farmers and producers. This year, the RC&D hopes to serve 500-600 people.

Chef Kevin Kilburn is preparing Coca-Cola-braised pork with blackberry BBQ sauce, sweet potatoes, cornbread salad, and pumpkin mousse. Coca-Cola is sponsoring the event this year and will be providing coke to go along with the food. The Council hopes to be set up on Spirit Hill this year, closer to the entrance to the stadium. Come out and support the Lions while enjoying a great, free meal that promotes the local economy! You can also talk to Council Members or Chef Kevin about where to buy fresh, local food. They will start serving food at 11 AM, prior to the 1:30 PM UNA game, and they will continue until they run out!
