Funeral service for Douglas Craig Cox, age 53, of Decatur, will be Thursday, November 5, 2015, 4:00 p.m. at Shelton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dr. Scotty Hogan officiating. The family will receive friends for two hours prior to service. Interment will be in Burningtree Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Cox, who went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 3, 2015, at Decatur Morgan Hospital, was born October 31, 1962, in South Carolina, to Charles Arthur Cox and Marie Griffin Cox. He was preceded in death by his father.
He is survived by his loving wife, Monica Aldridge Cox of Decatur; two sons, Joseph Griffin Cox and William Douglas Cox, both of Decatur; his mother, Marie Cox of Decatur; and two brothers, Don Cox of Savannah, GA, and Steve Cox of Denver, CO.
Pallbearers will be Nick Hackett, Kenny Cornelius, Bruce Venable, Chris Morris, Matt Carlow, and Dewayne Sims.
