SHEFFIELD – When a group of business leaders formed the “Sheffield Central” organization, their plan was to showcase all the nifty things going on in their city. Sheffield is undergoing a remarkable renaissance in its Downtown District and numerous business venues within the city limits. So they came up with an idea called “Trunk-Or-Treat”. It was a little Halloween street party. Nothing too big. Something to get the ball rolling, so-to-speak.
The ball is rolling. Last night and estimated 6-thousand people showed up Downtown. There were over 60 business, church groups, school and civic organizations involved. These folks were handing out balloons, candy and Halloween party-favors. There were hay rides and face-painting. The children and their parents were dressed up in their finest Halloween regalia. And everybody seemed to be having the time of their lives.
The Quad-Cities Daily was on hand to record the evening in EVENT PHOTOS and we present them here. Enjoy!
