Robert Dempsey Ivey, 91, of Huntsville passed away Saturday at a local nursing facility. Mr. Ivey was a veteran of World War II, having served his country in the U.S. Navy and was retired from Redstone Arsenal. He was preceded in death by one grandson: Joshua Embrey; his parents: Ross and Elizabeth Ivey and three brothers: Jack Ivey, J.W. Ivey and Benny Ivey. Survivors include two daughters: Jeanne and Jim McBride, Mindy and Lynn Patterson and their mother: Ottava Ivey; one son: Robert Ivey, Jr.; two sisters: Joyce Yell and Betty Osborne; one brother: Jim Ivey; five grandchildren: Amy and Scott Rawlinson, Anna Maria Fain, Leah and Curtis Lewis and Kim and Laurie Ivey and eight great-grandchildren. A private graveside service will be held Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at Maple Hill Cemetery with Berryhill Funeral Home directing. Memorial donations may be made to The Wounded Warrior Project, P.O.
