Modena “Deaner” Hayes, age 91, of Florence, passed away Thursday, October 22, 2015. Visitation will be Sunday, October 25, 6-8 p.m. at Spry-Williams Funeral Home, Florence. The funeral service will be Monday, October 26, 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel, with Brother Jerry Campbell officiating. Interment will be at Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Josh Thrasher, Austin Thrasher, Heath Thrasher,
Mark Lard, Terry Blackstock and Chris Hale.
Mrs. Hayes was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert G. Hayes, and her son, Gifford Hayes.
Survivors include daughter, Christine L. James and husband, Bobby Hale; sisters, Lea Hamilton and Hilda Kelly; brothers, Thurston Harper and Monroe Harper; grandchildren, Ronald Thrasher and Mark Thrasher; great-grandchildren, Josh Thrasher, Tyler Thrasher, Austin Thrasher, Heath Thrasher and Terra Friar; great-great-granddaughters, Ariana Marie Thrasher and Ellis Friar; her loving dogs, Tiny and Bear.
