20151022_3278 copySHEFFIELD – Sheffield City Schools will hosted “Experience Hydrate” Thursday night at the Sheffield Recreation Center. The event, which appears in many school districts throughout the State, was presented in the Shoals for the first time. Several hundred students and adults attended the show which is designed to engender positive life-attitudes.

Experience Hydrate tours are designed to inspire students and young adults to live with purpose and integrity by reaching students and young adults in their own environment while focusing on issues such as drugs & alcohol use, bullying, self-worth, depression, abstinence, teen pregnancy, teen violence.  Their goal is to provide tools necessary to make the right choices.

Using cutting edge dramas and skits that deal with key issues this generation is facing, presenters describe themselves as “a group of ordinary individuals endeavoring to bring extraordinary change to the world.”  They promote the idea of finding purpose and being part of the solution, citing statistics including the number of young people who suffer from depression, use drugs, drink, become pregnant, are bullied, contract sexually transmitted diseases, inflict self injury, are fatherless, or commit suicide.  In addition, they present live music and real life stories from young adults who’ve shattered all statistics; defying all the odds that were stacked against them.

Each assembly is action packed, high energy, and life changing and encourages students to realize that they hold the keys to their future and that the choices they make impact not only their future, but the world around them. More information about the program can be found at:  www.experiencehydrate.com.

The Quad-cities Daily was there to record the music portion of the show in EVENT PHOTOS. We present them here.
