Gentry Bruce Davenport, age 68, of Tuscumbia, died Monday, October 19, 2015. His family will receive friends Thursday, 11-1 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. His funeral service will follow in the funeral home chapel.
Mr. Davenport was a native of Florence, AL and served in the U. S. Navy. After his time in the Navy he was a business owner until his retirement at the age of forty-eight. After retirement he served in the American Red Cross Disaster Services Human Resource System. He was preceded in death by his father, Tony Davenport.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Dianne Davenport of Tuscumbia; mother, Bobby Joe Armstrong Davenport of Florence; son, David Gentry Davenport and wife Crystal Quinn Davenport; daughter, Melody Rose Everett; sister, Brenda Bray of Florence; grandchildren, Gentry Deacon Davenport, Brittani Whitman Price and Justin Tyler Whitman.
