-Police Chief Floyd Johnson of the Athens Police Department has issued a statement on the arrest of one man on charges of Possession of a Forged Instrument: Here is Police Chief Johnson’s statement:
“Michael J Dotson was arrested Saturday evening on a warrant for Possession of forged instruments 2nddegree.
On July 31, 2015 Dotson cashed two checks at Athens Pharmacy. The total amount of the checks was $450.00. The checks were written on a closed account and the owner of the checks didn’t know Dotson had the checks or authorize him to use them.
Investigator Tim McIntire worked the case and obtained the warrant for Dotson’s arrest. Dotson was booked at the police department and transferred to the county jail. “
