Howard Ray Council, 72, of Iuka, Mississippi, died October 13, 2015, at his residence. Mr. Council was retired from the U.S. Navy after serving three tours of duty in Vietnam. He was a Master Mason for 40 years and belonged to the Eola Lodge #207 F&AM in Orlando, FL. He was a retired electrician who enjoyed fishing, Harley Davidson motorcycles, and spending time with his grandchildren. Visitation is scheduled for 6-9 p.m. Sunday, October 18, at Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Monday, October 19, at Cutshall Funeral Home Chapel in Iuka, officiated by Bro. James Rich. Interment will follow in the Corinth National Cemetery with military honors and full Masonic rites. Pallbearers include Ted Prisk, Sidney Whitehurst, Jr., Ellis South, Harold Lomenick and Masonic brothers. He is survived by his fiancé, Deborah Summers of Iuka; two sons, Chris Rast of Florence, MS and Cody Hayes of Iuka; one daughter, Crystal Harvey of Iuka; three sisters, Frances Lipford of California, Nancy Council of Corinth, MS; and Virginia Epperson of Humboldt, TN; and six grandchildren, Sarah Rast, Hayley Bunns, Emmalee Bunns, Kamo Harvey, Aydon Hayes, and Trenton Hayes. He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Ruth Council; a brother, Thomas Doug Council; and a sister, Jane McBride. An online guestbook can be accessed at www.cutshallfuneralhome.com.
