Jo Ann Wallace, 78, passed away on Sunday, October 11, 2015 at Eliza Coffee Memorial Hospital in Florence. AL , following a short illness. She was born February 26, 1937, to Herman and Estelle Free McKee . Born in Hartselle, she lived in Knoxville, Tennessee, and Mexico City, Mexico, before settling with her family in Hartselle, Alabama. Jo Ann graduated from Morgan County High School and earned a degree in Business from Athens State College. Her career in accounting began in Hartselle and took her to Decatur, Courtland, Gadsden, Mountain Brook and Birmingham before she returned to her home town. After retiring, she moved to Florence. In the years since her retirement, she has enjoyed traveling with her sister and friends and spending time with her nieces and nephews. While in Decatur, she was an active member of Central Baptist Church until moving to Florence, where she became a member of Underwood Baptist Church. Jo Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Estelle Free McKee and a brother-in-law: James McInish.
Graveside Funeral Service and Interment for Jo Ann Wallace, 78, will be Thursday, October 15, 2015 at 1:00 PM at Cedar Creek Cemetery with Rev. Cordell Harrison officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. No visitation is scheduled.
