Mrs. Betty Joyce Haynes died peacefully at Select Specialty Hospital in Lake Worth, Florida, on Oct. 3, 2015, at the age of 86.
Betty is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Bobby Neal Haynes, Lake Worth, Florida; caring daughter, Linda Haynes, Wellington, Florida; brother, John Towles and wife, Willie Towles, Charlotte, North Carolina, and their children, Robin Pyle of Denver, Colorado, and Scott Towles of San Diego, California; granddaughters, Casey Coleman, of New York, New York; Jennifer Lowe and husband, Leonard Lowe, and great grandson, Skyler Lowe, all of Florence, Alabama; and devoted aid, Yanique Marston. Betty is preceded in death by two of her three beautiful daughters, Terry Lee Haynes and Jo Ann Haynes Rice, and loving mother, Cecile Carol Harris.
Betty was born on Aug. 16, 1929, in Hanesville, Alabama, to Cecile Harris. Cecile, worked hard to provide her children with the best life possible during the Great Depression. Betty was later married to her sweetheart, Bobby Neal Haynes, on Nov. 8, 1947. They had three wonderful daughters, Jo Ann, Terry, and Linda, and had the pleasure of living and traveling all over the world thanks to Bobby’s electrical supervision career and their daughters’ passion for travel.
Betty is fondly remembered by her family and everyone she encountered throughout her long life. She was an extremely devoted wife and mother and grandmother whose homemaking skills, fantastic cooking, incredible sewing talents, and her delectable Christmas cookies and candies will be well remembered. Upon retirement, Betty was a fan of caring for feral cats, singing, playing bridge, and spending Sunday’s solving crossword puzzles.
