Millard Bert Young, age 83, of Florence, Alabama, died, Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at home with his family. The visitation will be Sunday, October 11th from 1-2:00p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Central Heights. The funeral will follow at 2:00p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Larry Burbank will be officiating. Interment will be at Milford Cemetery.
He was preceded in death by his parents Robert Edward Young “Burt” and Estelle Wood Young; brothers, Robert Orman Young and Harvey Ross Young; sister, Billie Marie Maroney
Survivors include his brother Roderick Price Young; sisters, Heather Ruth White, Francis Sybil Ticer, Betty Jane Smith, and Carla Ramona White. Bert had no children but he had an innumerable amount of “kids” whom he called “baby.”
He was a Korean and Vietnam Veteran. He was a highly decorated Vietnam veteran who served a total of five overseas tour of duties.
