Marilyn Faye Jackson Swanner, age 78, of Decatur, passed away Sunday, October 4, 2015. She was born to Collin Jackson and Martha Lorene Mewbourn in Lester, Alabama on October 18, 1936.
Services will be Wednesday, October 7, 2015 at 11:00AM at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with Brother Mark Johnson and her children officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, October 6, 2015 from 5:00PM until 8:00PM. Burial will be in Hesters Chapel Cemetery.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her daughter Onira Jil Swanner Riordan and her brother Eschol Jackson.
She is survived by her longtime companion and soul mate Shelton Bettis of Decatur, AL, one daughter: Candace Jennings of St. Louis, MO, one son: Jack Swanner of Waynesville, NC. She is also survived by two sisters: Martha Sheppard of Joelton, TN and Carolyn Gaston of Athens, AL, two grandchildren: Jesse Marie Hammett Swanner and Savanah Hammett Swanner Merrell.
Marilyn was a member of Hesters Chapel Church of Christ.
