Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Ross Blankenship, age 80, are scheduled for 1 PM, Friday, October 2, 2015 in the chapel of Pafford Funeral Home in Lexington. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Baptist Cemetery. Mrs. Blankenship passed away late Monday at her home in Lexington. She was born November 28, 1934 in Madison County to the late James Franklin Ross and Beatrice Hamilton Ross. She was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking, gardening, and watching hummingbirds. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Wilbern Manley Blankenship and two brothers, Charles and Edward Ross. Survivors include her two sons, Randal (Detra) Blankenship and Frankie (Shelia) Blankenship; two daughters, Marylyn Blankenship Bird (Michael) and Teresa Blankenship Johnson; four sisters, Vivian Jones, Lois Holland, Caroline Pettie, and Reba Phillips; one brother, Alonzo Ross; fourteen grandchildren; and sixteen great grandchildren.
