Etta-Mathews-1443111116Etta Mae Cranford Mathews, 88 of Albertville, formerly of Arab died Wednesday, September 23, 2015 in Arab.

Mrs. Mathews was born January 17, 1927 in Marshall County. She had completed her GED and also attended a year of college. She was a homemaker and a long time hair stylist at her own shop, Etta Mae’s Beauty Shop for 20 to 25 years. She was a member of Life Gate Church.

She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law: Alan and Jana Cranford; a daughter and son-in-law: Doris and David Kelley; three grandchildren: Sonja Hard, Heather Cranford and Jeremy Cranford; a sister: Lou Bell and caregivers: Regina Lyle, Hospice of Marshall County and Hospice of Huntsville; preceded in death by husband: Horace E. Cranford and husband: Homer Mathews, her father: Charlie Blackmon, Mother: Ethel Weaver Cobb, and a sister: Annie Fullerton.

Funeral service will be 3:00 p.m. Friday, September 25, 2015 at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel, Brother Matt Jordan and Brother William Bruce Teal, officiating. Burial will be in Gilliam Springs Cemetery, Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel, directing.

Pallbearers will be Jeremy Cranford, Louis Cranford, David Richards, Rodney Smith, Clint Talton and Phillip Taylor.

Visitation will be 1 to 3 p.m. Friday, September 25, 2015 at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel.
