CLEVELAND, MS-Delta State University instructor Shannon Lamb is officially the suspect in the shooting death of a DSU Professor and in a woman’s shooting at a home they shared in Gautier, Mississippi. Both shootings took place Monday, September 14.  It is believed Lamb shot the yet unidentified woman in Gauiter then drove to Cleveland killing the second victim.

on campus since August 2013.

Gautier police earlier Monday had confirmed Lamb is suspected of killing a woman whose death he reported by telephone.

Authorities identified the suspect as 45-year-old Shannon Lamb in a news conference Monday afternoon. According to the DSU website, Lamb is a social science professor at the university.

Investigators  said Lamb was last seen driving a green SUV. A vehicle matching that description was found on the DSU campus Monday morning.

The investigation is ongoing and the suspected shooter is still at large.
