Raymond Floyd Simmons, age 86, departed this life peacefully on Thursday, Sept. 3, 2015, to be eternally with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Visitation will be today from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Colbert Memorial Chapel with service to follow at 3 p.m. in chapel. Burial will be at Tuscumbia Oakwood with Brother Ted Vafeas officiating. He was owner/operator of Raymond Simmons Body Shop. He was a veteran of the Korean War. Mr. Simmons was preceded in death by his parents, Donald M. and Susie K. Simmons, and brother, Howard R. Simmons.
Survivors cherishing his memory are his wife and best friend of 55 wonderful years, Martha Sue Hester Simmons; brother-in-law and wife, Kenneth J. and Jeri Hester; nieces, Diane Wilbanks and Dorothy Patrick; and several great-nieces and nephews and many friends.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
