Bertha Yvonne “Evon” Smith, 80, passed away Wednesday, September 2, 2015, at her home. She was born July 31, 1935, to Doyle and Alta Barnes Clippard. She was a member of Lakeland Baptist Church. She was a homemaker and spent most of her time keeping her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed sewing.
Services will be at 5:30 p.m. Friday, September 4, at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Mantachie with Bro. Danny Rushing and Bro. Henry Jenkins officiating. Burial will be in the Stephens Cemetery.
Survivors include two sons, Kenneth W. Smith (Peggy) of Mantachie and Donald Mac Smith (Suzanne) of Amory; five grandchildren, Christy Smith, Lisa Stewart, Kayla Roberson (Adam), Suzette Smith, and Kevin Smith (Mandy); and three great-grandchildren, Dominic, David, and Carson Smith.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kennie Smith, in 1998; one brother, Jim Clippard; one sister, Shirley Cromeans; and her parents.
Pallbearers will be Roger Smith, Mitchell Smith, Dominic Smith, Kevin Smith, David Clippard, and Steve Clippard.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Friday, September 4, at the funeral home.
