Whitson McWilliams Christy passed away at his home on Tuesday, Aug. 25, 2015. He was 44 years old.
He is survived by his two loving sons, Benjamin Allen Christy and Jonathan Paul Christy; parents, Edmund H. and Mae Whitson McWilliams Christy; sister, Margaret “Boo” C. Charbonnet (Sid); and three nieces, Christy, Sidney and Mary Lucy Charbonnet.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Edmund Harris Christy III, and his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Edmund Harris Christy Sr. and Mr. and Mrs. Joe F. McWilliams.
Whitson was a graduate of St. Martin’s Episcopal School, University of Texas, and received his MBA from UNO. He spent most of his career in banking and real estate in New Orleans and the Gulf Coast. He was a former member of the Rotary Club and Pass Christian Yacht Club. While at UT, Whitson was a member of Phi Delta Theta Fraternity and the Texas Spurs. He was also a lifetime member of the Texas Exes.
Whitson enjoyed hunting and fishing but mostly enjoyed spending time with his boys building Legos and being in the country with them.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral service at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. in New Orleans on Friday, Aug. 28, 2015, at 2 p.m. A visitation will be held at the funeral home beginning at noon. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Martin’s Episcopal School and/or the Poydras Home.
