ATHENS-The Athens Police Department made three arrests today on three separate charges. Here is how Police Chief Floyd Johnson describe the arrests:
“Jordan Letray Higgins was arrested early this morning for Trafficking in Illegal drugs. Lt. Daniel McNatt stopped Higgins for a traffic violation on US 72. In McNatt’s investigation he located 29, 60 MG Morphine Sulphate tablets in Higgins vehicle. Higgins was booked at the police department and then transferred to the county jail.
Jerry Wayne Thompson was arrested today on two warrants for violations of the sex offender notification act. Thompson’s a convicted sex offender and did not resister with the police department as required by law. Thompson also failed to obtain an Alabama identification card also required by law. Thompson was booked at the police department and transferred to the county jail.
Walter Romone Collier was arrested this morning on a warrant for domestic violence by strangulation. On August 16, 2015 officers received a call of domestic incident at the Budget Inn. Officer Bobby Hand talked with Colliers girlfriend who told him Collier got mad at her for going out with a friend the night before and choked her. The victim did have red marks on her neck from the incident. Collier had left the motel before Hand arrived. Collier was booked at the police department and transferred to the county jail.”

I have no doubt that Romone Collier did exactly what he is accused of. He did the same thing to me on several occasions. It took me years to get away. I would happily testify that he has done it before and WILL do it again.
I called the police on him one time. so it is on record.He has a history of domestic violence. One day he will go too far.
