James Arthur Simonton, 63 of Houston passed away on August 18, 2015 in Cullman.

He was born on January 6, 1952 in Birmingham. He graduated from Addison High School in 1971, and he went on to join the Army National Guard and work at Cavaler Homes. He loved hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his sisters, Ann (Mickey) Hulsey and Dorothy (David) Adair; nephews, Mike Hulsey, Tim Hulsey, and Chris McCombs; niece, Gina Shaddix; great nieces, Taylor McCombs, Hannah McCombs and Annelise Hulsey; and great nephews, Caleb Shaddix, Andrew Shaddix, Samuel Shaddix and Jaxon Hulsey.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Lois Simonton.
