Bert Garrison Pickens, age 80, passed away on Aug. 16, 2015, at her home in Mt. Hope, Alabama.
Visitation will be today from 4:30-6 p.m. with the memorial service to follow at 6 p.m. at Rick Springs Presbyterian Church in Mt. Hope, Alabama, with Pastor Debbie Williams officiating. Bert retired from Wal-Mart after many years, and she was a member of Rock Springs Presbyterian Church.
Bert was preceded in death by her husband, Reg Pickens, parents, Lawrence and Lillian Garrison, brothers, Theron (Thirty), Taldon, and Butch Garrison, and sisters, Hollie Vinson, Gladys Hopkins, Sallie Hazel Garrison, and Lorene Caden.
Bert is survived by her son, Randy Pickens and wife, Kandi; daughter, Brenda Hipps and her husband, Anthony; four grandchildren, Lindsey (Eric) Coan, Kylie Pickens, Austin Hipps, and Drew Hipps; and one great-grandchild, Lillian Coan. She is also survived by one brother, Aimuel Garrison; two sisters-in-law, Betty Garrison and Miriam Garrison; and several nieces and nephews.
Honorary pallbearers will be Ricky Garrison, Tim Vinson, Scott Caden, Kenny Garrison, Tab Garrison, Todd Garrison, and Allen Pickens.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Rock Springs Presbyterian Church or your favorite charity.
Lawrence Funeral Home in Moulton, Alabama is assisting the family.
