A celebration of life for Robbie Jean Griggs, 82, will be Tuesday, August 18, 2015, at 2 p.m. at Southside Baptist Church with Rev. Brooks Barkley and Rev. Ben Hayes officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. at the church.
Miss. Griggs died Saturday, August 15, 2015, at Decatur Morgan Hospital. She was born to Ray Griggs and Birdie Thompson Griggs. She was a graduate of West Limestone High School. Upon graduation she began her career with South Central Bell and retired as a supervisor with AT&T.
Her greatest love was singing gospel songs with the Griggs Trio. She was a member of Southside Baptist Church for 63 years where she was very active in the church choir and Sunday School.
She is survived by one sister, Claudelle Ellis(Frank).
Pallbearers will be Mike Clemons, Dave Hokett, Ray Cox, Roger Mathis, Jack Holbert and Mark Ray.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Southside Baptist Church of Decatur.
