Edward “Dick” Waddell – Obituary

edwardEdward “Dick” Waddell, 96, of Rogersville died Tuesday, August 11th, 2015 at his residence. He was an avid Lauderdale County High School and Auburn Fan.
Mr. Waddell was a 1936 graduate of Lauderdale County High School, a 1941 graduate from Auburn University and a veteran of the United States Army during World War II. He was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church of Rogersville serving as a deacon and trustee. Dick was retired from the State of Alabama.
Visitation will be Friday, August 14th, 2015 from 11 – 1 at First Baptist Church of Rogersville. Funeral service will follow immediately at the church with Jamey Cosby and Brandon Rainey officiating. Burial will be in Rogersville Funeral Home Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Caleb Waddell, Brandon Hale, Trey Waddell, Bradley Waddell, Adam Norrell, Rob Talcott, Jesse Waddell and Jake Cosby; honorary, Dean Cosby and Barry Lee.
Dick was preceded in death by his wife, Sue Waddell and three brothers. He is survived by his children, Edward “Dickie” (Kristy) Waddell, Jeff (Tammy) Waddell, Kay (Mark) Butler and Sissy Hale; grandchildren, Emilie (Rob) Talcott, Brandon (Jessica) Hale, Erin (Adam) Norrell, Caleb Waddell, Cambrie Waddell, Trey (Emily) Waddell and Brad (Lindsey) Waddell; great-grandchildren, Makenzie & Baylee Hale, Gavin & Grant Talcott and Hadley Waddell.
The family would like to express a special thank you to caregivers, Cheryl Thompson and Kathy Davis.
In lieu of flowers donations are requested to be made to First Baptist Church of Rogersville.
