Helen McMahan Henderson, 90, passed away Monday, Aug. 3, 2015, at her residence after a brief illness. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Rogersville. She enjoyed bowling, baking, and sharing with everyone.
Visitation will be today from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Rogersville Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow immediately in the chapel, with burial in Civitan Cemetery. Chris Harris and Larry Wilson will be officiating. Pallbearers will be Jason Ingrum, Chris Crumbley, Phillip Hooie, Pelmer Lansdell, Todd Palmer and Greg Palmer; honorary, Jess Gorrell, John Embry, and Bob Ingrum.
Mrs. Henderson was preceded in death by her husband, Henry E. Henderson, parents, Roger and Mae McMahan, siblings, Dwight McMahan, Jean Newman, and Trula Lawson, father and mother-in-law, Charles and Eva Henderson, brothers-in-law, Don and Carl Henderson, sisters-in-law, Marjorie LaFallette and Hazel Fox, and nephew, Roger McMahan. She is survived by her daughters, Elizabeth “Libbie” (James) Embry, of Rogersville, and Deborah (Rick) Selak, of Germantown, Tennessee; grandchildren, Stephen Embry, of Rogersville, and Laura Selak, of Germantown, Tennessee; siblings, Earl McMahan, Wilma Helton, Beulah McMahan, Bob McMahan, and Barbara McMahan, all of Sevierville, Tennessee; sister-in-law, Anna Lou Ogle (Bill) Elder, of Sevierville, Tennessee; special neighbors, Jess and Jean Gorrell; many loved nieces and nephews; a multitude of friends; and her very loyal, faithful companion, P.J. the dog.
Helen was a wonderful, Christian mother.
