One Suspect Arrested For Assault On Police Officer

FLORENCE-Officers responded to a call regarding a fight in the 200 block of North Court Street on Monday, August 3rd and arrested on suspect on Assualt charges.

When officers arrived Cox fled the scene and went into an apartment.  Officers , along with the  offenders father were trying to get inside the apartment to get Cox’s side of the story, Cox threw a phone from the balcony of the apartment striking the Officer in the neck and face.

Robert W. Cox, age 21  was arrested and charged with Assault of Police Officer 2nd Other Than a Weapon.
